About Booperwise

Two dogs, a German Shepard and a Belgian Malinois dogs relaxing on grass with their toys under a clear blue sky.

🐾 Our Story

I know it's cliché, but still true none the less.  At Booperwise, we believe that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family.  Our love for our own dogs, who face challenges with allergies and/or food intolerances, inspired the creation of Booperwise.

We’re not veterinarians, scientists, or pet nutritionists.  We’re just regular people passionate about solving real-world pet wellness challenges through the sharing of information and accessible technology.

That’s why Booperwise is designed to be:

🐕 Playful in spirit

💡 Tech-savvy in function

🤝 Reliable and friendly in service

We know we're not the only ones out there, but we want to create a space for all of us to be comfortable sharing our pet stories, learning tips & tricks, and finding resources.

We're just getting started, so it will take a little time to build Booperwise up to the potential reach I know it's capable of.  So, please follow, like, share, and / or subscribe.  #Booperwise, #BooperwiseCommunity @Booperwise

Our vision?  A future where millions of pets live happier, healthier lives—thanks to the right tools and information for their humans.

The Booperwise Family

Meet - Brek

This big, hairy, goofy, lovable teddy bear is our gremlin!

For as long as we've had him it's been a constant struggle to keep him regulated.  When he has any issues, they manifest mostly with him being itchy, particularly on his belly.  When his ears get dirty or "goopy," we know it's bad and related to something in his food, so we make adjustments to keep him from worsening ear infections.  He's never had any hotspots that we've seen, but clearly there's a reaction of some sort and he seems uncomfortable because he's scratching all the time.

We've lost count of all the different foods we've given him.  It seems like we find something that gives him some relief but then he just starts scratching again or having issues with his ears and the process starts all over again.

For us personally, we've found that cooking for him ourselves, where we can control what he's getting in his food seems to work the best.  But even with a very limited ingredient recipe for home cooked meals, he still sometimes has issues.

We've talked with our vet numerous times, and the answer usually boils down to, "Well, he's a German Sheppard."  🤔   Really?

Meet - Miss Bea Haven, a.k.a. Haven

We call this her 'DMV' photo.  All business!  But, if you're familiar with the breed, they're almost always "all business."  Like her brother Brek, she has shown different reactions to food items, often resulting in her vomiting.  As our picky eater, this adds another layer of challenges when trying to find the right food for her.

Both of them absolutely LOVE the food we make them at home using ChefPaw Pet Food Makers!
